About Gina Davenport, Solunita Director

I am absolutely thrilled to be the Director for Solunita Child Care Center ! I know that over time you will all get to know me, but I want to take a moment now to give you a glimpse into the person that I am.

I am an advocate for children and families . I work with children and families because I want to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families I know that children are filled with mounds of join and potential, and I am aware that in order to make a difference in the lives of children that families too must be involved and they are a vital component in this process. I began working with children while I was in middle school as a field study project and have since evolved from that humble beginning into a champion for children and families. I have continuously been involved with children and families in some capacity or another. I have since worked as a Director for Early Head Start as well as a Director for U. C. Berkeley and an Executive Director for a Non-profit childrens organization. I have worked with children in a variety of different settings that has afforded me with a rich array of experiences and a background that has also included working with bilingual children, typically developing, gifted children as well as children of special needs.

As I complete the final stint of my Masters Degree requirements in Human Development, I intend to better serve with this knowledge and experience behind me. I also hope to serve as a positive role model for others and show them the importance of providing a quality experience for children that is both fun as well as educational. I am joining Solunita in its inception and am so excited that I can be a vital part in the process of starting this new center as one of its leaders. I have joined Solunita as the Director because I want to directly serve children, their families and the community through this Center.

I believe an organization is only as good as the individual and collective effort, proficiency, dedication and passion of its employees. When we become masters at what we do, we truly serve our children. When we serve our children we serve the world, for our children are our future.
